I live in the era of the Brooklyn Renaissance. For my 33rd birthday I dreamed of shooting an Annie Leibovitz-style photograph with the women in my life that I most admired, by one of the most spectacular photographers of our time. I wanted to document our greatness.
Now some may say it is a bit presumptuous of me to claim that - greatness. But if you knew what these women have done in their short lives, you - too - would attempt to get them all in one room to capture a moment in history.
